Beijing Din Tai Fung closes 14 stores  4 branches in HK have no news of closure

Din Tai Fung is a well-known catering brand in Taiwan, founded in 1958, with more than 170 stores in 13 countries and regions worldwide.  Among them, there are four branches in Hong Kong, including the Tsim Sha Tsui branch, which was awarded a Michelin star.  Recently, Din Tai Fung Beijing announced that it will close 14 branches in North China and Qingdao, Xi’an and Xiamen by October 31, while 18 branches in the East and South China will continue to operate.  Ding Tai Fung Company apologized for the distress and disappointment caused to customers and would make proper arrangements for employee compensation and resettlement, at the same time also protecting the rights and interests of prepaid card members.  In the future, the company will actively communicate with its partners and do its best to reduce the impact on all parties.  This decision seems to indicate that the Chinese fine dining industry is about to enter a cold winter.
