The Norwegian Spirit cruise ship has arrived in Taiwan for the first time and will use Keelung as its home port to start 32 trips between Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea until September 20, 2024.  The ship was built in 1998 and underwent a US$100 million modification in 2021.  It weighs 75,000 tons and can accommodate 2,018 passengers.  There are more than 20 dining options on board, including 6 free restaurants and even a 24-hour restaurant that offers a variety of cuisine, including Taiwanese specialties such as beef noodles and braised pork rice.

Passengers speak highly of the free catering service.  A pair of passengers said that compared with their cruise experience in Taiwan many years ago, the quality of catering on the “Norwegian Spirithas improved significantly.  Another family of three also expressed satisfaction with the free meals, especially the readily available beef noodles and diverse buffet options.  Service staff believe that the size of mid-sized cruise ships allows passengers to have a comfortable travel experience without having to wait long when dining and using leisure facilities.
