Catering industry hopes to launch “packaged tourism” Encourage Greater Bay mainland consumers to visit HK
The tourism industry has recovered after the epidemic, but how to encourage mainland tourists to stay overnight in Hong Kong is a major challenge for the local service and catering industries. Hong Kong Federation of Restaurants & Related Trades president Simon Wong Ka-wo pointed out that in order to attract more mainland tourists to Hong Kong and promote the business of local restaurants, he suggested that the local tourism industry implement “packaged tourism”, leveraging on the advantages of the Greater Bay Area, launching tourism products for the Greater Bay Area that include Hong Kong, encourage mainland tourists to spend one or two days to visit Hong Kong when traveling domestically.
He hopes that the government can provide coupons to tourists to increase spending; at the same time, business tourists should be allowed to use all means of transportation for free in Hong Kong to facilitate travel, create a friendly image and establish a good reputation.
