“Kam Kee Cafe” CEO Calvin Tse: “Leaving the restaurant company he founded the way Steve Jobs did”

Kam Kee Cafe, formerly known as Shau Kei Wan Dai pai dong, has more than 40 branches in Hong Kong, Kowloon and New Territories. Recently there are rumors of many branches are closing, attracting outside attention. Earlier, Kam Kee Holdings CEO Calvin Tse announced his resignation. He even stated on social media that he was “leaving the catering company he founded in the same way as Steve Jobs did.” He also said that he is in living distressed, but urging people not to worry about his personal living expenses, instead he is more concerned about the employment issues of other colleagues who have resigned, and wishes Kam Kee to continue prosperity and development.
Kam Kee Cafe’s Chairman Mr. Ray Chui Man Wai has said that cash flow is stable, but there are reports that Kam Kee Catering Group has faced multiple lawsuit to collect rent arrears, adding to the outside doubts about Kam Kee’s future.
